The Process

The first step is to set up an evaluation appointment. At the initial evaluation, you’ll meet with the therapist to discuss your concerns. The therapist will then work and play with your child, to build rapport and assess specific areas. Based on our findings, we will tailor weekly or twice weekly sessions to fit your child’s needs. Sometimes parents remain in the room during the therapy sessions and sometimes they wait in the waiting area. This can be discussed once the therapist meets with you.

In-Network Insurance

– Medical Mutual of Ohio
– Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield
– Bureau of Children with Medical Handicaps (BCMH)

Out-of-Network Insurance

Families with insurances for which we are not providers may be able to use out-of-network benefits. This requires you to pay the session fee up front and be reimbursed by your insurance company according to the benefits. We will submit the paperwork for you. Please call for more details.

Questions to Ask Your Insurance Provider

Do I have coverage for speech therapy and/or occupational therapy?

How many visits for speech therapy and/or OT do I have per year? Is it a calendar year?

Do I have to meet a deductible? If so, how much is the deductible? Is there a different individual deductible for my child and a family deductible? How much of the deductible have I already met?

Am I responsible for a co-pay (flat fee per session) or co-insurance (percentage of the negotiated rate)?

For out-of-network providers: Do I have coverage for out-of-network speech therapy and/or occupational therapy?
